Meetings 2023-2024

Pollok Country Park is Glasgows largest park.

It is home to Pollok House and also the Burrell Collection Museum.

There is plenty to see and photograph within the park, including Highland Cows and lots of other animals/wildlife.

Parking is available for £5.00 for up to 4 hours, or £10 for all day if you prefer it.

Entry to the Burrell Collection museum is free of charge.

Unfortunately Pollok House is currently closed to the public for refurbishment.

There is a cafe and public toilets in the park

Photowalk at Buchanan Wharf and the Clydeside in Glasgow.

Meet up at the Tradeston Bridge (Squiggly Bridge) on Clyde Place Quay, just on the opposite side of the River from the Grosvenor Casino.

There is plenty of free parking available at The Quay on Paisley Road, which is a 10 minute walk away.

Alternatively you can travel in by train, Glasgow Central is less than 10 minutes walk from this location.

If anyone would like to car share or requires a lift please let us know.

This Tuesday at the Sports Centre will be our AGM, followed by the concluding part of our Ian Davidson Memorial Knoclout Competition.

Another workshop for our beginners group - this time we will be working with 2 light sources to demonstrate how we can add extra interest and depth to our images. 

These sessions will be led by Andy Millar and are for those members who are interested in furthering their experience with working in a studio environment.  

At tonight's workshop, we will be working with one light source to create different lighting patterns.

Alastair Jackson is a photographer originally from Skye, now living in Fairlie  

He has travelled around 42 islands on the West Coast of Scotland and will be providing a presentation, based on his travels.

Alastair will be bringing along copies of his Island Hopping booklet with him. These will be available to purchase for £5, with £1 going to Alzheimer’s Scotland.

Barrie specialises in dance & ballet, headshots, commercial and fine-art photography

He was awarded Photographer of the Year and Portrait Photographer of the Year in 2019 by The British Institute of Professional Photography 

Barrie is also an award winning dog photographer

C2/3 - Print Competition hand in closes tonight.

We realise that there are several new members who would like to enter the C2 (Mono Print) and C3 (Colour Print) competitons next Tuesday but who are struggling to get their prints mounted.

• To ensure that no one misses out Tracy, Clive, David and Bob will be set up at the back of the room on Tuesday night to mount your prints for you.
