The "Whys?" of Photography - Pete Heywood

Wed 31 Oct 2018 7:00pm

7 for 7:30pm.

Over the years, Award winning photographer Pete Heywood, has specialised in low light concert photography. Although his natural inclination is to teach, in this Club presentation he will explore the ‘whys’ more than the ‘hows’ of photography.  What makes certain photographs iconic? Is a picture really worth a thousand words? How can you inject emotion into your photography? How can you connect more effectively with the viewer? Pete has published, or been instrumental in publishing, several books and exhibitions and believes in the power of collaboration more than competition. In recent years he has presented images in live concert settings, connecting with audiences of many thousands and evoking strong emotional responses. He ‘guarantees’ that during this evening you will either learn something new or consider taking on a new challenge – or he will buy you all a drink! Some of this description is delivered with the tongue firmly in the cheek – but approach this evening with an open mind and decide for yourself.
