For this evening's walk, we will start at Kelvinbridge Underground station (at the main entrance to the station) where hopefully the Kelvin will be running enough to make for dramatic images as it sweeps down on two sides of the Great Western Bridge. We will then make our way to and through the Park, taking in the Memorial Fountain, the skateboard park and anything else of note. Then we'll head to the Kelvingrove Museum via the bridge on Kelvin Way. We'll go past the museum and the Kelvinhall and then take a circular path up Sunlight Walk to the Sunlight Cottages - a perhaps forgotten part of the city. We will end at the University where hopefully the floodlights will be on. It's then a short walk back to Kelvinbridge underground station. I may stay a little later as night views over the city are good.
At point of writing, I'd suggest we start at 7.30pm for this one, a. to let people get up to the city after work, and b. in the hope that a later start menas we get some floodlighting on.
Parking in the are is either free (the Kelvingrove/Dumbarton Road side) or will incur a charge as the meters on the Uni side are now on until 10pm. I'm going to double check that and will update if necessary. Kelvinbrige of course has a park and ride car park which in theory should be less busy at that time.
