Hand in PDIs for KO3 (one image per person - see https://irvinecc.co.uk/flag/confirm/flag/enter_competition_round/21872?d...)

Open from 7 for a 7:30 start.   Harry, from Dalry CC, will be talking through a few of his techniques and showing us how......and later a chance for us to get our own shots.  Bring cameras and tripods.

If you wish to participate can you bring :-
DSLR camera or camera that can have the shutter delayed for a minimum of 5 seconds and check to see if you have bulb mode as well for longer exposures.
A kit lens will be fine but for a APS-C camera l would suggest 18mm to 24 mm lens  if possible or the wider the better.
Tripod,
Cable release, or remote shutter trigger, if you don't have these you can use the shutter delay timer (self timer) in your camera,
Spare battery fully charged and spare SD card,
please check if you have inbody stabilizer and have it switched off, if it's on you camera lens you can switch it off on the night.
if you want to use a smart phone there is a app that l have been looking at and will suit for this type of long exposure but it costs £2.99 for the pro version that allows long exposure, it allows you to set the f stop, iOS and custom white balance value as well,  it's called Camera FV-5 lite ( there are other app's available), l would suggest trying it before the night to get familiar with the settings and try it on light trails etc.
I believe the latest iPhones have settings in the camera mode to do long exposure but check yours out first, there are some apps for iPhones but from what l have seen Slow Shutter App seems to be ok but l can't check it out so do some research on the App's for you model phone,
If you intend using your phone you will still need a phone holder and a tripod, check if it has a shutter delay (self timer) as well.

Harry
