Sunday June 22nd sees the Glasgow Mela festival - a celebration of South Asian culture - at Kelvingrove Park. It is on the up after a couple of poorer years in the wake of the Covid lockdowns - especially the food stalls. It is a colourful and cheerful event and well worth a visit if you haven't been before.
The main programmes start at 12noon but if you're travelling by car, you'd need to be in the area by 11:00 as on-street parking is far easier to find then - no parking charges on a Sunday too.
On-street parking tends to be at least a ten or fifteen minute walk away, so possibly the easiest way would be to get yourself to Central or Buchanan Street bus station then get the underground to either Kelvinbridge or Kelvinhall.  Kelvinbridge is slightly nearer - a ten minute walk bringing you in at the rear of the park.
Let's meet at 11:45 at the Stewart Memorial fountain. It's about 50m from the skateboard park in case you don't know where it is. It's difficult to miss it, and it it's a nice day there'll be weans and dugs in it.
