Update. We we expect a good turnout. Please remember your face coverings for inside the building. Park up at the fence by the road so as not to obstruct the view of the building and exhibits - thanks.

@ museum Linthouse Building, - tripods, cameras. Indoor/low light photography. (6pm-9:30pm - "Normal start" of 7pm, but they can accept us from 6pm if you want to get along early). £4 per head - pay the museum - card prefered. If we can start the evening by taking shots outside it will help with the flow through the museum.

We may pair up beginners with more experienced photographers as required. Your challenge is to shoot the following 3 themes, while maintaining social distancing, and taking several photographs during the afternoon and evening:

Themes:

1) "Museum at Twilight",

2) "Almost Impossible"(say a phone or action cam shot, getting in where you can't fit your DSLR),

3) "Striking Industrial".

Bring camera and tripod - if you'd like to borrow one we'll bring a few along (please let us know as a comment). We'll have a chance to view the current "Puffer Spartan Exhibition". Possible other subjects for the evening in addition to the above themes: Outdoor, Sunset, Reflections, Patterns, Architecture, Industrial, Opposites, Abstract, Low Angle, From Above, Building, Exterior, Interior......etc.,  for inspiration see https://www.flickr.com/gp/scottishmaritimemuseum/ikN3tb

It’s ok to go back to the SMM if you want to improve on what you got on the day, and for those who'd rather go down separately, feel free to try over the following week up to 13/10. Those who couldn’t get down because of strict isolating, could try to put a few fresh (newly taken) images up on similiar themes.

Over the following weeks you will process and edit your images and select what you think are the best three photographs to suit the themes – one for each of the themes above - no duplicates!   NB. To avoid influencing each other, please do not post any theme images on the club's social media until after the review evening 14/10. Many thanks.

Upload your processed pics before Tuesday 13th Oct - 2020-21 SC1 - https://irvinecc.co.uk/competitions-members

Comments

I'll be going and should be there soon after 6. Best to park up by the fence rather than near the building to avoid spoiling any views of the Linthouse, Spartan and Corolla etc.
