Weather looks promising for a good event again this year. Very popular with members in 2018. Saturday evening best for viewing balloons and the night glow (9pm-ish). Parking in Strathaven can be difficult so best to share transport if you can. Add a comment on here if/when you plan to go up.

Suggested forecast for monitoring the wind to see when they are likely to be up. Best to view the 1hr listing rather than the 3hr. https://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/strathaven
I am keen to go but would prefer either following someone else going or as a passenger.
Mark Selling, the Flight Director for the event, states on FB:
Tonight probably isn’t going to happen as the winds aloft are too strong and straight towards the Glasgow zone . The weather gets better throughout the weekend though and I am very hopeful of some good flying .. my top tip for you photographers - come Sunday morning 0630 ! - we even have over a dozen balloons for the Sunday night slot.
Yes, Sunday morning looking really good. Otherwise the wind direction is bad for the Glasgow zone (?)...keep checking.
Is anyone going for 6.30 on Sunday morning?
I’m going whenever if anyone else is
Sunday 6:30 am still sounds best shooting from the hill. Forecast still right - won't make it myself unfortunately. Post a message on FB too if you decide when. I heard that Debbie was keen too.
Where do you usually park? what hill do we get good shots from?
Sorry no longer going to Strathaven
Ian Johnstone managed to get up for the night glow Saturday. Balloons flying at the times planned. Still time to catch them Sunday evening. Weather looks to be very good.
