This week’s selection of photographs, all taken by members of Irvine Camera Club, were all taken over the last few weeks in various locations from Kilmarnock to Portencross, Ayr and Prestwick.
It’s not quite over yet, but by the time you read this we will be back indoors starting our Autumn season of events for photographers. That’s not to say we will not still be out with our cameras of course. The fast approaching Autumn is my personal favourite time of the year, the colours are out in the trees, the light is softer, you have to manage the weather but this can add to the atmosphere, you just have to make the most of what there is.
These images show the contrasting interests and editing techniques that our members work with from strong colours to black and white, unusual crops to seeing creative opportunities. Photography isn’t just one thing, one way of doing or seeing something. Everyone who takes part will find their own particular interests, their likes and dislikes and ways of doing things. The best thing is that there is always something more to learn and at the photography club there is always someone who is willing to share and show you. I wonder what I will learn this year?
Irvine Camera Club prides itself on being an inclusive club, open to anyone, any age, who is interested in photography, whatever you use to take photo’s. Being social and getting out is an important part of what we do and who we are as club, and making friends and spending time doing something we enjoy is always at the heart of everything we aim to do.
