Our spring and summer season of photo walks is now well under way at Irvine Camera Club and this week we are presenting a selection of images from our trip up to Glasgow.
The weather plays a huge part in photography, notably how it affects the light available and consequently how and what can be photographed. It allows for artistic shadow work as you can see from the variety of approaches on show, but also in how people dress and what they are up to on a beautiful spring evening. For photographers interested in street and people portraits, there is an endless variety of subjects to capture.
This selection shows images of a few of the many people we met, some just passed through our frame, others stopped and chatted, interested to know what we were up to and where we were from. This is one of the pleasures of going on a walk as part of a group, you attract attention and therefore interest in the work you are creating and generally people are happy to become a part of the story for the evening.
Irvine Camera Club prides itself on being an inclusive club, open to anyone, any age, who is interested in photography, whatever you use to take photo’s. The social aspect is an important part of what we do and who we are as club, and making friends and spending time doing something we enjoy is always at the heart of everything we aim to do.
So, if you would like to know more about photography or if any of these images have inspired you pick up a camera then you’d be very welcome to come along on one of our summer social walks.
