This selection of images were all taken by members of Irvine Camera Club and were submitted as part of a panel competition earlier this year.  Although each photo formed part of a collection of images and arguably were stronger for it, show the wide range of panels and interests we had submitted.

Within these images are some great ideas for your own photography if you ever feel like you’re getting stuck for things to try.  Notably Lorna Dunlop’s ‘Islands In The Sky’.  A simple idea that catches you out at first glance, but the idea of photographing rocks in water with the sky reflecting behind is one that you easily try down on the beach for example.

Natalie Queen’s image from the ‘Old Railway’ shows how you can take a larger subject and isolate an area or a part of it and make that the subject of your image.  Fiona Wallace captured her puffin as it was calling and managed to create a different kind of puffin image from those we are used to seeing.

Clive took some old postcards and by layering different elements in photoshop and some creative editing created some visually striking and thoughtful images of old postcards.  There’s so much that you can do with photography and these images are the kind of inspiration we see every week at the club

If you have an interest in photography, would like to see what we are up to and want to be part of an exciting, all-inclusive club then why not come along, you will be made to feel very welcome.

We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
