Creativity is strong at Irvine Camera Club and this selection of images that were presented as part of our annual ‘Play Your Cards Right’ competition show the diverse interests and skills of some of our members. The friendly competition is designed to push our photographers into new areas, tackle techniques that they might not be overly comfortable with, explore new subjects and settings and to see what they can come up with.
Sometimes it can feel like everything has already been photographed with our daily bombardment of images, but with a little imagination you can find a new angle, a new perspective or lighting technique that maybe shows the viewer something slightly different. I know for myself that when I slow down and see what is around me, I spot interesting things to work with and if the weather isn’t great, photography using everyday items on the kitchen table can be really creative.
If you have an interest in photography, would like to see what we are up to and want to be part of an exciting, all-inclusive club then why not come along, you will be made to feel very welcome.
We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
