The images presented here were all submitted as part of our first annual digital print competition of this season.  It is always great to see a variety of images, whether in shows or in competition, especially when the level of work being produced is of such a high standard.

From portraiture to landscapes, architecture to animals, in all weathers, images are being produced and one of the great things about being in a club like ours is that you can then go and talk to the person who took the image that caught your attention.  It’s an opportunity to learn about genres of photography that are maybe unfamiliar to you from people who specialise in it.

I often overhear members asking how to find the secret locations and when best to visit, asking for advice on approaching strangers for a portrait, how to capture the personality of a dog, how to work out when the moon will be a perfect position, how does my camera work?

So, if you have questions, like what you see and would like to come and meet a friendly group of photographers you would be very welcome at Irvine Camera Club.  The Autumn season is now underway with a packed season of talks, competitions and practical evenings.

We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
