This week Irvine camera Club members attended the second round of our annual Ian Davidson Memorial Knockout Competition.  Members were asked to submit images which are then shuffled anonymously and projected side by side during the evening.  Voting the takes place on their favourite image of the two with the favourite going through to the next round until we are left with one overall winning image.  Images that are knocked out receive supporting and helpful comments which generates a lot of discussion about photography in general.

The overall winner this year was Andrew Flannigan with his stunning. National Geographic worthy image of a young boy on a train.  On closer inspection you can see a tear running down his cheek as he looks directly down the lens of the camera.  A worthy winner and a favourite from the start, it is presented here along side some of the other incredible images that made it through to the final’s week.

If you would like to come and see what we are up to this week, we meet on Tuesdays starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
