A few weeks ago, we presented images by Irvine Camera Club that were in Black and White.  Black and White images take us back to the dawn of photography and some would argue it’s the purest form of image making.  Images rely on contrast, shades, shape and form to tell the story.

This week I have selected images that are all in colour, but where colour plays an important part of what makes the image successful.  Take the colour away from any of these images and imagine them in black and white and you’ll see how much the colour plays a part in telling the story.  It’s an important element in storytelling and in these images.

Starting this week, the club are out and about both in the local community and further afield with a full programme of walks and visits lined up and this year looks like it could be the best yet.  These walks are a great opportunity for families of members, visitors to the area or those looking to find out more about what we do to come along and join us on a practical photography trip where you could make some new friends, learn about your camera, pick up some tips or just enjoy being outdoors with like-minded people.

There is something for everyone, so if you are interested in photography and would like to come along, you would be made to feel very welcome.  We have a full programme of events for the summer where visitors are most welcome to join us.  If interested, just get in touch.
