Irvine Camera Club have been out and about this week with the start of their Summer season of photo walks.
This week we were treated to an amazing behind the scenes look at ‘Doon Valley Heritage Railway’ led by three of their very knowledgeable volunteers. We were shown around the work that they are currently restoring with plenty of subjects to photograph and document, the less than favourable weather adding to the images making it well worth the trip. The railway is a fantastic place to visit, and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in old railways and the history of the area, check their website for details of open days where you can take a trip up and down the line on one of the trains.
If you wish to come and join us on one of our walks, it’s a great opportunity for families of members, visitors to the area or those looking to find out more about what we do to come along and join us on a practical photography trip where you could make some new friends, learn about your camera, pick up some tips or just enjoy being outdoors with like-minded people.
There is something for everyone, so if you are interested in photography and would like to come along, you would be made to feel very welcome. We have a full programme of events for the summer where visitors are most welcome to join us. If interested, just get in touch.
