Our spring and summer season of photo walks is now well under way at Irvine Camera Club and for those of you interested in photography, it’s a great excuse to get outdoors and explore.  Last week saw club members meet up for an evening walk around West Kilbride.

It is always interesting exploring a new area with a camera, it can challenge you and force you step out of your comfort zone.  You never know what you are going to see and with the weather and light proving a little challenging on this occasion, the images presented here demonstrate a range of interests and subjects that were captured on the walk.

The season of walks are also a great opportunity to chat and socialise, make new friends, share tips and tricks and to visit areas that are new. Many club members return to locations after the club walk to either re-photograph an area or subject under different conditions, so these walks are also great for scouting out new possibilities for your photography with others.

Irvine Camera Club prides itself on being an inclusive club, open to anyone, any age, who is interested in photography, whatever you use to take photo’s.  Many members use their phones and some members are using older traditional methods, from film cameras to chemical developing techniques. The social aspect is an important part of what we do and who we are as club, and making friends and spending time doing something we enjoy is always at the heart of everything we aim to do.

So, if you would like to know more about photography or if any of these images have inspired you pick up a camera then you’d be very welcome to come along on one of our summer social walks.
