In the Herald - Virtual club comp was a winner

This week Irvine Camera Club virtually travelled up to our friends at Beith Camera Club for a friendly knock-out competition.  Both clubs provided 16 images which were randomly presented in pairs for the membership of both clubs to vote on.  Despite a few issues with the Zoom technology the evening went really well with everyone enjoying a good online catch-up as well as a chance to appreciate some excellent photography.

Seasoned photographers, Bob Wark from Irvine and Ian Ferguson from Beith, provided a commentary on alternating images as each image was knocked out of the competition.  After 4 rounds of voting we got down to the last two images standing and, on this occasion, the favourite image of the evening was a lovely forest scene from Beith’s Marty McNaughton.

Despite not coming up with the winning image Irvine can hold their heads high having submitted great images, each from a different member of the club.  Some of them are shown in this week’s spread – I hope you enjoy them!

Next week we do it all again when we have another knockout with Cumnock Camera Club.   We are hoping for another excellent social evening with some good banter, interesting photographers and this time hopefully a better result for Irvine.

If you are looking for an excuse to use your camera more in in lockdown then joining a camera club is the perfect way to get your creative juices flowing.  Please free to come along to any of our virtual club meetings, you will be warmly welcomed.  All of our details can be found at our website www.irvinecc.co.uk and you can also contact us via our social media platforms.
