In the Herald - A trip to the old harbour

Just like last year, Irvine Camera Club had another beautiful evening a Portencross last Wednesday.  The glorious weather also brought out anglers, paddle boarders as well kids and families, all keen to make the most of warm evening sunshine.

Our keen photographers made the most of the opportunity to create some evocative images as the sky turned shades of orange and gold.  The view out to Arran provided the perfect backdrop, not only for graphic silhouettes of pier, but also of the club members themselves.

As the sun went down and the light began to fade, the full moon rose in the east giving us another beautiful subject to capture.  When the conditions are right, and you are in the zone, it is the perfect time to relax, take in the scene and allow yourself to create something special with your photography.  I hope you enjoy looking at some of the work made by our members that special evening.

There are only a couple of weeks of our summer photo walk season left now.  Our attention is turning towards our new season and a packed programme of talks, workshops, competitions and socialising at our new club venue, the Irvine Sports Club down by the river at the Maress.   We will kick off the new season with an Open Evening on the 6th September where anyone is welcome to come along to see and hear about the kind of things we do.  We would love to see you there.  All the details are on our website www.irvinecc.co.uk
