The images presented here are all from members of Irvine Camera Club, taken over the summer in Millport and Irvine Harbour. We have been lucky this summer to visit a wide variety of places, taking photos of the things that catch our interest. But on many occasions, when I look through the photo’s that other photographers have taken, I often wonder if I was on a different trip to them.
They seem to find things that I never saw, less obvious to the eye or the location. In talking to others, it seems that this can be a common issue when out, we all see the obvious and struggle to find the other opportunities a location can offer us. Whilst Millport and Irvine Harbour at first glance offer the views, the sea, the port, boats, people, these images demonstrate that there is so much else to find as well. So next time, try looking for something a little more subtle or different and not the obvious to create interesting images and see what happens.
The Camera Club Autumn seasons is now underway with a packed season of talks, competitions and practical evenings. We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
If you have an interest in photography, would like to see what we are up to and want to be part of an exciting, all-inclusive club then why not come along, you will be made to feel very welcome. There’s always tea, coffee and biscuits and if you’re lucky Fiona may have been baking.
