At Irvine Camera Club we are spending the summer out and about exploring this area of Scotland through our weekly photo walks.  It’s an opportunity to see new places, re-visit familiar sites, meet new people and chat about photography.

So far we have visited Millport, Irvine, Ayr, Rothiemurchus Bird Of Prey Centre, Glasgow, Murshiel Country Park, Doon Valley Railway and Dumfries House to name a few and have created an amazing number of images across all genres of photography.  We have members who specialise and enjoy sharing their passion for portraiture, street, nature, landscape or architectural photography, but these walks allow us to also stretch outside of our comfort zones, to experiment, to learn from others and to collaborate on new work, to try new things.

It's also a very social aspect to our club and our members can often be seen just chatting away, sometimes the camera doesn’t even get used that much, it’s just nice to be out and enjoying the evening.  But the camera is the reason, it is the excuse to get out and be around other people.  Photography is good for you and especially for your health, whether going on long photo walks, being out in nature or having the final images around your home, making you smile every time you see them.  These images are taken from our various outings so far.

If you are interested in photography and would like to come along to see what we get up to, you would be made to feel very welcome.  We have a full programme of events for the summer where visitors are most welcome to join us.  If interested, drop us a message and get in touch.
