You may think that a ‘Camera Club’ is a room full of people talking about photographs and photography and entering competitions.  While that is partly the case, Irvine Camera Club prides itself on being an active, vibrant group of photographers who are active in the local community, supporting local events and using our photographic skills to promote the local area.

We have just started our ‘Summer Season’ of photographic walks and got off to a great start in sunny Saltcoats.  Just up the coast, it is an area we visit frequently, always providing us with a wealth of photographic opportunities, especially for those with an interest in street photography.  On this occasion it also provided a curry lunch which was well earnt after the walk.  The photo’s presented here give you a flavour of what we saw.

The club prides itself on being an inclusive club, open to anyone, any age, who is interested in photography, whatever you use to take photos. Many members use their phones and some members are using older traditional methods, from film cameras to chemical developing techniques. The social aspect is an important part of what we do and who we are as club, and making friends and spending time doing something we enjoy is always at the heart of everything we aim to do.

So, if you would like to know more about photography or if any of these images have inspired you pick up a camera then you’d be very welcome to come along on one of our summer social walks.
