Competitions are an important part of a Photography Clubs season. At Irvine Camera Club we celebrate our competitions as an opportunity to get constructive and supportive feedback on our images. Our results evenings are always well attended as it’s an opportunity to learn so much from someone from outside of the club seeing your images for the first time.
In the end, it is also a competition and therefore there are winners that are awarded points from which a league table is generated throughout the year and the overall winners will pick up silverware at the end of the season. It’s a quietly competitive situation with the focus on improvement and education and overall, entering the competitions is a very rewarding experience whatever level you are at.
This week’s images are from our first competition of the year. Last week we published the winning images so this week I wanted celebrate other images that were presented to demonstrate the high quality of work being done by members across a variety of disciplines and styles.
If you would like to come and see what we are up to this week, we meet on Tuesdays starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
