In the Herald - Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock may not be the first place that springs to mind when heading out on a photo walk, but that is where members of Irvine Camera Club found themselves one evening last week.  The wonderful thing about photography is that if you look carefully there is always something to capture, something of interest that you may not notice at first.

From the college to the train station, through to the high street and the church, past the arches, the statues and the people enjoying an evening out, there were a lot of different subjects to cover.

One of the best things about being in a club is the opportunity to visit different places, not just the regular beauty spots, but also some less obvious locations and exploring what they have to offer. Along with the different interests of the members, including macro, still life, landscape, documentary and street life, there are always a wide variety of styles and subjects to explore and learn about.

I hope that you enjoy the sample of images presented here and if interested would encourage you join one of our photo walks and to explore less obvious locations just to see what you might find.

We have photo walks arranged every week throughout the summer and you are very welcome to come and join us.  Camera club members will be on hand to help less experienced photographers with everything from camera settings to composition.  Full details can be found on our website https://irvinecc.co.uk/programme
