Recently Irvine Camera Club took an evening stroll around Kelburn Castle and Estate. With so much to see we were spoilt for choice and the resulting panel of images shows the diversity of interests that club members have.
The castle itself, with its graffiti walls is the obvious attraction, trying to find a new angle or way of presenting it in an image is a challenge as it is photographed by every visitor to the estate. But with a little bit of exploring up through the glen, past the waterfalls, or around the buildings in the grounds, you can find so much to photograph.
As an amateur photographer, photo walks like this are an amazing opportunity to try out new techniques, learn new skills and photograph everything from wide angle dramatic landscapes to macro inspired plant and insect life. If you would like to join us on one of our friendly walks, you don’t need a flashy camera, all you need is the camera on your phone. We have members who are complete beginners through to professionals with a wide range of skills that they are happy to pass on so if you are interested in photography why not come and get involved.
Irvine Camera Club is very active on a weekly basis and have upcoming photo walks to Blackpool, Irvine, Greenock and the Isle Of Bute. There is also a full programme of talks, events and competitions throughout the autumn and winter. Full details can be found on FB and Insta and on our website: https://irvinecc.co.uk/programme
