Irvine Camera Club’s 2025/6 season is well underway, and this year is shaping up to be one of our best.  With photography at the centre of everything that we do, we are always looking at ways to improve our work, to make friends and to work with our local communities.

Along with our regular competitions throughout the year we run a less formal competition for those wanting to try out images before submitting to other competitions, to gain feedback and to look for feedback.  This year we are running a monthly ‘Best Shots’ competition with a theme to work to every month with the aim of keeping everyone photographing throughout the year and not just when the sun is shining.

This month the brief which was “Enjoying The Great Outdoors” and we had four images that won a prize and two that were commended.  These images all had something special about them.  Congratulations to the winning images by Andrew Winter, Malcolm Yates, Lorna Dunlop and Roy Pearson with commendations to Donnie Briggs and Malcolm Yates.

The Camera Club Autumn seasons is now underway with a packed season of talks, competitions and practical evenings. We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL

If you have an interest in photography, would like to see what we are up to and want to be part of an exciting, all-inclusive club then why not come along, you will be made to feel very welcome.  There’s always tea, coffee and biscuits and if you’re lucky Fiona may have been baking.
