At Irvine Camera Club we are spending the summer out and about exploring this area of Scotland through our weekly photo walks.  It’s an opportunity to see new places, re-visit familiar sites, meet new people and chat about photography.

We recently visited Dumfries House on a beautiful warm sunny evening to explore the grounds and see what we could find.  There’s always plenty to photograph around the house and grounds, from the landscapes to wildlife, the plants and fauna, architecture and people.  Photographing in the evening light also gave us some lovely soft light to work with and with the tourists having left, it was easier to create images of the busier parts of the estate.

It’s a great place to go for a photo walk as a club, with so many members having different interests there is something for everyone to try.  It was great to see so many attend, with many taking the opportunity to enjoy the warm evening and chat to each other about photography and to learn from each other.

We still have lots of walks to come this summer so if you are interested in photography and would like to come along to see what we get up to, you would be made to feel very welcome.  We have a full programme of events for the summer where visitors are most welcome to join us.  If interested, drop us a message and get in touch.
