This week we had our first club competition of the year.  It was the popular DPI – Digital Projected Image competition, an open digital image competition on any subject in either colour or black and white.

The visiting judge, Rob Davis, had cast his eye over the images in the week’s beforehand and came along to visit our club and to award points to the images that he felt were the best submitted.  One of the great things about these evenings is the feedback that we receive on our work and Rob gave a lot of interesting and insightful comments on everyone’s images and was generous in his marking.  We would like to thank him for his hard work and time as I know personally that judge’s comments allow me see my images differently and in many cases give options to improve them.

The selection of images you see here are the winning image, David Bell’s black and white image called ‘Solitary’ of a man looking towards us and the second and third place winners.

Our full programme of talks, events and competitions that take place throughout the autumn and winter has just started.  We meet on Tuesdays starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
