With the new season well under way, it has been a fantastic couple of weeks at Irvine Camera Club.  We started the season off with an inspirational talk by Andrew Allan on Astrophotography, full of incredible images and useful information to get us out during the night with our cameras.  We have had a camera walk around Eglington park, a members evening, and this week was the clubs first competition results night.

For digital projected images, Jim Stevenson visited to give us his expert opinion on the vast array of images that were presented to him.  Having cast his eye over them he came armed with some helpful advice as to how we might improve our images or how he might have approached the subject differently.  It is always a great help to have others critique your work in a supportive and constructive way and with so many useful pieces of advice, our work can only improve.  We would like to thank Jim for the time he spent on this as it is an important part of a camera clubs season but takes a lot of time organising and commenting on the images.

In the end, Clive Watkins image of the boxers won the overall top marks.  He also came joint second with Andrew Flannigan and David Bell.  With six joint 3rd places, it was indication of how hard it had been to separate the top images of the night.

If you would like to come and see what we are up to this week, we meet on Tuesdays starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
