One of the things that Irvine Camera Club is especially proud of and continues to work at is building relationships within the local community, supporting them through our photographic work where we can.  One of these is the upcoming ‘Reflections’ exhibition, part of the annual Ayrshire Mental Health Arts Festival that is held every October.

The images presented here are some of the submissions from which the final exhibition images will be taken on the theme of reflection.  Themes are often an interesting way to group images that you might have and you competitions or groups ask for images based on themes to give a structure to the work being presented.

Themes also enable photographers to focus their work on a particular subject or emotion, although a theme can also lead to various interpretations.  The theme in this case of ‘Reflection’ can be taken in different ways, the literal sense of a reflection or the more thoughtful and obscure idea of ‘reflecting’.

The images here are all about the idea of being thoughtful and reflective and show the wide range of ideas that can come from a simple one word brief.

If you would like to know more about photography or if any of these images have inspired you pick up a camera then we have a packed schedule of weekly events including talks, walks, practical nights, community exhibitions, competitions and so much more going on this year.
