Irvine Camera Club’s season has been suspended as we all move into period of social distancing and potentially even more stringent isolation. We had managed to complete all of our main competitions this year, with only the internal club knockout outstanding. That, along with our AGM and the end of season prizegiving will now have to wait until the beginning of next season when hopefully COVID-19 will have been defeated and normal service can be resumed.
In the meantime, we intend to keep the camera club alive and kicking online. We have many members for whom the club provides important social contact as well as an opportunity to practice our favourite hobby. Even if we are unable to meet in person we will do our best to support each other during the next few months. Keep aneye on our website for more details if you would like to get involved!
We also intend to keep featuring images in the Irvine Herald. I know it gives our members great pleasure to see their work published in the paper and I really hope that you appreciate seeing some of our creative photography each week. More than anything we hope our photos inspire you to pick up your camera and have a go too. Photography is perhaps the ideal hobby to practice when you have some spare time on your hands. Spring is here and there is nothing to stop you getting out in the garden with your camera, or your phone. If the photography bug does bite then we would really love to see you when the club restarts after the summer.
This week we are featuring some of our best photos from last season. You can see that our members cover a wide range of subjects and approach them in a variety of styles. From nature and landscape to sport and portraits you’ll find it all here. You can find our much more about the club here online at www.irvinecc.co.uk or look for us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/202058109935057/).
