The images presented here were all taken by members of Irvine Camera Club and presented as entries into our annual internal knockout competition.  Images are selected at random and shown two at a time side by side for members to vote on their favourite.  The image with the least votes gets knocked out after receiving helpful and supportive comments, until we are left with one image.

This is always a very popular event in our calendar and with so many images entered, it runs over two weeks which also allows for lots of socialising as well which is a great chance to catch up with other members and see what they have been up to.

It is always interesting to see how images compare to each other.  Due to the nature of how the process works, you get to see the same image progress through the rounds get compared to other different images.  You then see them in so many different ways, having to re-evaluate their strengths and weaknesses becomes a great learning experience and everyone’s photography improves from an evening like this.

Congratulations to Pete Heywood who’s image of the lifeguard on the beach won the event.

If you have an interest in photography, would like to see what we are up to and want to be part of an exciting, all-inclusive club then why not come along, you will be made to feel very welcome.

We meet on Tuesdays, starting at 7.30 at Irvine Community Sports Club, Waterside, Marress Roundabout, Irvine KA12 8DL
