This week Irvine Camera Club present an eclectic set of images taken on three of our recent walks.  They once again demonstrate the interests that our photographers have and their unique way of seeing the world.

Images were taken in Sorn, Ayr, Whitelees Wind Farm and Lochwinnoch where on at least one occasion the weather did not make things easy. Nevertheless, our walks are always well attended, no matter what the weather throws at us.  For those that venture out in less than ideal conditions, it can be very rewarding and are often rewarded with scenes that you just would not see on a better day.

Poor weather also lends itself to black and white photography and for some this is an area of photography they have never tried before so it can become a great learning experience.  Trying to work out if an image looks better in colour or black and white is an age old problem and both require a slightly different view of your image and thought process which is always interesting to try and figure out.

On occasion, when the weather really gets in the way, a welcome stop at a coffee shop or pub is often a good back up plan, which allows members to catch up, chat, laugh and make plans for another day.  An unsuccessful photo walk is always improved with some ice cream or cake.

Irvine Camera Club prides itself on being an inclusive club, open to anyone, any age, who is interested in photography, whatever you use to take photo’s.  Being social and getting out is an important part of what we do and who we are as club, and making friends and spending time doing something we enjoy is always at the heart of everything we aim to do.

If you would like to know more about photography or if any of these images have inspired you pick up a camera then you’d be very welcome to come along on one of our summer social walks.
